Summary
AlZawia City
a study in cities geography
Al Zawia city is located at the extreme north west of Libya. At the northern part of Tripoli territory at the coastal band area, that is facing the Mediterranean Sea. It experienced rapid expansion in its area. It was about 598.1 hectares in 1980 and rose to 2870 hectares in year 2000. Accordingly, this study divided into seven chapters. The first chapter dealt with the location and position of Al Zawia city in terms of geographical location, the climate phenomenon and surface appearances. While the second chapter dealt the beginning of Al Zawia city and its building growth. The third chapter dealt with the city's internal composition of the city and the fourth chapter concerned the study of population while the fifth chapter dealt the functions of Al Zawia city. The sixth chapter focused the studying the functional territory of Al Zawia city and the last chapter concerned the study of Al Zawia city planning in order to seek the ideal solutions which the city suffering from.
