Abstract
Caring for retirees is a matter imposed by the conditions of society and its quest for development. Many countries have developed programs that ensure a decent life for this segment. In Iraq retirees suffer from clear neglect that had led to the emergence of many problems among this group of the population. These problems will certainly worsen, especially after Finally setting the retirement age to (60) years instead of (63) years.
In the province of Kirkuk, the retired population suffers from economic, social, health and psychological conditions that are not appropriate for their age and the services they provided to the community.
And that the study is only an attempt to shed light on an important segment of society in the province, which is represented by former employees who provided great services in their work sites, and the importance of the study is evident from the fact that it shows important facts about the retired population in terms of their spatial distribution and their qualitative, age and occupational composition, as well as their Their environmental distribution (urban, rural), which are important indicators that deserve attention and attention, due to their association with the economic, cultural, political, social and natural characteristics of the study area.
This study required the use of a number of research approaches and scientific methods represented by the use of the descriptive approach, which relies on collecting facts and data about the phenomenon and determining its temporal and spatial characteristics. The statistical method for studying the phenomenon after describing and analyzing it using the language of numbers to highlight the relationships using the method of reasoning, analysis and linking between the phenomena and the factors influencing them.
In order to analyze the results of the study, a set of statistical methods were relied upon to analyze the phenomenon under study, and the standard scores were used as a statistical method and an appropriate classification technique to show the spatial variation in the distribution of the phenomenon, as well as the use of the simple Pearson correlation coefficient to calculate the degree of relationship between A group of factors and the degree of their influence on the subject of the study, and relied on the statistical program (SPSS) to indicate the significance of the impact of some human variables on the subject of the study, as well as relying on (Excel) programs for drawing shapes and (Arc Gis 10.3) for mapping and representing geographical phenomena on them.
The study showed that the volume of the living
retired population in Kirkuk Governorate, who are covered by the pension, has
been growing increasingly. The study revealed that there is a discrepancy in
the sizes of the retired population and their spatial distribution between the
administrative units, as the retired population was concentrated in city
centers, especially in the district centers of Kirkuk and Hawija, as it
occupied the first ranks from 2010 to 2020 AD.
