تحتوي جميع المعلومات التي تنظمها
وتنشرها إدارة مصايد الأسماك وتربية الأحياء المائية في المنظمة على بعد جغرافي،
وهو عنصر أساسي لمتابعة مصايد الأسماك على المستوى العالمي ولدعم صناعة القرار
لأعضاء المنظمة المعنيين بإدارة مصايد الأسماك على المستوى العالمي.
يمكّن قسم شبكة المعلومات الجغرافية
من الوصول المباشر الى فئتين من المعلومات ذات الأهمية جغرافيا.
الدراسات الجغرافية :
تشمل الدراسات الجغرافية كيانات تعتبر
عنصرا مهيمنا جغرافيا مثل البلدان، ومناطق صيد الأسماك، والمنظمات التقليمية
لمصايد الأسماك. وتمنح دراسات هذه الكيانات الخصائص الأساسية لمصايد الأسماك في
شكل صحائف وقائع.
الخرائط،
نظم المعلومات الجغرافية، و الاستشعار عن بعد :
نظراً لأن مصايد الأسماك تمتد أساساً على مساحاتٍ واسعة، فإن الإدارة
الرشيدة تتطلب فهماً جيداً للأبعاد المساحية للموارد السمكية. وتوفر نظم المعلومات
الجغرافية و الاستشعار عن بعد تكنولوجيا لرسم الخرائط وتوزيع الموارد المائية،
وبيئة هذه الموارد، ووحدات إدارة المصايد، ونظم الإنتاج، إلخ.. مما يمكن أن يساعد
في صناعة القرار. وتلعب المنظمة دوراً فريداً في توفير مثل هذه المعلومات، الأمر
الذي يساعد في رسم خرائط للاتجاهات العالمية.

Search NASO Maps collection using various tools.
Maps are available at national level and at administrative level and/or when available, at an individual farm level.
The National production page includes a map on aquaculture production of aquatic animals for human consumption (tonnes) in 2009. Select one country from the map by clicking on that country or select from the drop-down lists to display the production statistics by country.
The Browse map page provides an up-to-date overview of the NASO maps currently available at administrative level and individual farm level. Simply click on one of the markers shown in the world map to display the corresponding map for the country being selected.
A Search by Country page gives the user the option of selecting the country by its name to display data at an administrative level or individual farm level.
An Advanced Search gives the user the option to select a country and then select some of the characteristics that accompany the administrative units or individual farms locations (e.g. cultured species, technology used, culture systems, etc).
