Abstract:
The study dealt with the cartographic modeling of investment project sites for the investment map of Baghdad Governorate using geographical information systems (GIS) and the use of modern geographic techniques to collect and survey information on the sites of investment projects for the Baghdad Governorate and their geographical distribution and design a comprehensive and integrated geographical database for all projects. The study also aimed to tabulate those data and information for sites Investment projects through their functional classification (residential, commercial, recreational, educational, health, industrial, and agricultural) and at the level of the administrative units of Baghdad Governorate by coding these Information in the database with the exact geographical coordinates.
Likewise, each point of these projects was linked to a table of characteristics to be a mapping geographical map for investment with its realistic and planned types.
The study focused on establishing spatial models for projects and evaluating them through spatial requirements and criteria used for that to come out with a geographical analysis of the site’s properties for investment projects and avoiding errors in signing future projects as numbers were prepared Cartographic grew by using geographic information systems techniques as a scientific analytical tool by measuring spatial relationships between investment projects and different land uses in order to explain and understand the reasons for establishing and distributing projects in the areas A note in its current locations and the extent of its contribution to achieving spatial development, and building a mapping model that shows the size and locations of projects and spatial relationships to it.
The study contained five chapters with a set of conclusions and recommendations, as the first chapter included with the introduction and the problem and the hypothesis of the study and its limits and goals the conceptual framework for investment and the investment map while ensuring the second C chapter contains the geographical database of the completed and planned investment projects according to their geographical distribution and job classification with building digital maps to clarify them, while the third and fourth chapter touched on the completed and planned investment projects A report in Baghdad governorate to clarify the difference in its distribution between the administrative units and the functional sectors, while the fifth chapter included criteria for evaluating investment projects in the Baghdad governorate and building a mapping model for different projects that suit the best site determinants.
The study came out with several conclusions, the most important of which are : -
1- Baghdad Governorate comes first in the number of investment projects, whether completed or planned.
2- Most of the investment projects in all its sectors are concentrated in the administrative units of Baghdad, more than outside them.
